I have started to print photos much more. I bought a little bit over a week ago a new camera (well, 10 year old camera but for me a new one, even I have much newer cameras as well) and with that new camera I have gone out every day to take photos. After that I have moved photos to my cellphone and selected something between 5 to 15 photos or so on that day and then just printed them immediately with Canon Selphy. It just feels so different to have photos on paper. Yes, Selphy is not the cheapest option to print especially if you print many photos, but I just like the process that I print same day some photos at least what I have taken that day. It does not need to be perfect, most interesting or what-so-ever, the actual feel of the "boring" photos on paper still tells me something, it helps me to grow as a photographer. I have not taken RAW, just JPEG. Also I have not any kind of cropping before print so it is also a training for me to see if I have something what I need to do better. For example, do I crop photos annyoingly that something is halfly cut out, do I overexpopsure or underexposure and so on. So far in a week and couple of days I have already printed over 100 photos and I don't see reason why not do that in future as well. It is all about enjoyment and having fun and even if those photos are not personal and have no any kind of personal meaning it does not mean that I should not print it :)

Well done, mamiya 7 images have a quality that make images shine with soul, a word that doesn't come up in photography, though we take photos of scene/view because of how it makes us feel.

In your comparison shots, imo 100% Film! Film to me is more like a classic painting, its timeless., it has this art vibe, it gives the photos more story. Digital is more perfect, easier and just gets the job done. I found a way to get best of both worlds, I shoot with my Fujifilm X-T30 II with this recipe and replicate a sort of film-ish look which I love. Most of the time I use the JPG with this film-look build in.

Everything in moderation. I find that people who have poor reasoning skills and self assessment skills have the most difficulty in switching out old, hard habits for better, healthier ones. There's a very common saying that goes, "You can't reason someone out of a position that they didn't reason themselves into." I find that irrespective of a person's financial success and even intelligence & aptitude in their own fields, most people don't burden their minds with things that they've personally assigned zero worth to, whether they admit to it or not. Change won't come unless you truly want it for yourself and not for anyone else's sake. As I grow old, keep learning new things and hopefully becoming wiser in life, one thing that becomes clear is how messed up the majority people are in this world. Almost everyone has suffered some sort of trauma in life. Be it physical, mental, emotional , psychological. Even if you have the financial means to afford a therapist visit, it stills requires cooperation, willingness for change and truthfulness on your part. Not to mention that time and emotional energy are a luxury that even some of the most financially secure can't afford. Start working on your logical reasoning and critical thinking skills now and start preparing yourself for the hardships of an uncertain future. Self introspection and a passion for learning will take you very far in life, even if it doesn't solve every single one of your problems. When you work to better yourself, others who are in the same boat are attracted to your hard work and unite in reaching shared goals. Always value education, be critical of your preconceived notions and biases. Stop pathologizing normal behavior and end the cycle of self abuse that was beaten into you by abusive, authoritarian adults in your life.

I have tried so many things - nothing has stuck so far! My current thing is to just delete the apps I am looking to use less. If I really want to use the app I have to install it and then use it. That level of friction usually kills the 'quick peek that becomes a wormhole' type behaviour.

My work and hobbies heavily involve the internet, communication, posting, and utilizing various devices. There have been times when I found myself glued to a screen from the moment I woke up to when I closed my eyes at night. Initially, I believed this constant connectivity was simply part of the 'grind,' and to some extent, it is. However, what truly facilitated my transition from excessive screen time to a more balanced approach, while still maintaining productivity, was establishing structured schedules for each task, albeit with some flexibility. That means setting time to enjoy or try a new hobby (at the moment it's making coffee/tea) and understanding that this is also a part of my overall growth as a creator.
